Introductions and such.

Hi we’re Jeremy and Anna Baldi. Together since we were 16, married since we were 22. We have two kids who you will more often than not see in pajamas (affectionately called kid 1 and kid 2 for internet purposes, I’m sure you understand). A pup named Klaus that will be the very portable size of 120 pounds when he’s full grown, perfect for RV travel don’t you think? (Before you ask - he’s a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog which is the short haired cousin to the more familiar Bernese.) We have completely renovated our home doing 95% of the work ourselves which gives us a complete false confidence that we can enter into the adventurous world of owning and building our camper van. (You can read more about the why here.)

Jeremy has a natural tendency towards engineering and design and is a plan man through and through. He has a formal education in Industrial Design and a career in CGI. Which proves incredibly handy when you don’t own said RV yet but your mind is bursting with ideas for layouts and you want to see how they will work. His hobby is racing, or as I call it “laying on the ground and going 130 mph in a tiny frame while your wife prays for 45 minutes”. I’ve peaked your interest haven’t I? Ok, go here and you can watch, then come back. I’ll wait.

Anna (that’s me) brings the spontaneous spirit, is overzealous by nature and also has a design mind. By day I am an Interior Designer for commercial spaces, mostly offices and some restaurants. As you might guess, our design minds don’t always jive. We’re keeping a video journal of the process every time we work in the van and I’m sure you’ll see “the look” more than one time if you pay attention. This is marriage and DIY people, buckle up!

Kid 1 is a curious gal and loves nothing more than a good book. She’s an old soul, usually prefers to hang with the adults over the kids, but loves to play and be creative. Not a sports fan, but constantly surprises us with her bravery to try new activities and adventures. Incredibly sarcastic (she comes by it honestly), and she has great comedic timing.

Kid 2 is our spider monkey. Always moving, climbing, jumping. Not as quick to try new things, but gains confidence with every new experience. Strong willed and shy is how we’ve always described him, but he’s also creative, hilarious and quick witted.

Klaus is our most recent addition, a lovable and mildly lazy pup. Loves the outdoors, long naps on car rides, sleeping in his humans bed when they aren’t, and exploring. He prefers under the chin pets to head pets, and loves turkey.

Our van is named after our beloved first pups, Moose and Maple. Moose was a chocolate lab and our first kid. He was a handsome fellow and so much trouble but oh so sweet. Maple was a Greater Swiss, we brought her home 9 months after we brought home Moose. She was an absolute sweetheart, loved her people, and even surprised herself when she would do something bad. We lost both of them in the summer of 2019, Moose in June at the age of 14 and Maple in August at the age of 13 1/2. When we talked about what we would name the van dedicating it to our sweet pups felt like the perfect tribute. They didn’t get to do much travel, given a good portion of their lives we were just trying to figure out how to adult and raise kids so traveling wasn’t on our radar yet. Moose would have loved to swim in the ocean. Maple would have loved to look out onto the beautiful mountains with her people. They will be there in spirit, and we are so excited to have the experiences in their memory.

As Christians, we feel so blessed to have this opportunity. In turn, we have been considering how we can use M/M van to bless others as well. It is our goal that with every adventure we take we incorporate a service project into our travels. We would love to here from you! If there are great service opportunities across the country that you have done with your family please share them with us via email. Thank you!
